After purchasing an irregular shaped, steep block of land, it was soon apparent that a run of the mill "off the plan" house design would not be suitable for our purposes.  After interviewing a few potential designers, it was clear that Abela Design had the slopey site experience that we were after. Our initial consultation with Abela Design consisted of handing over a survey plan of the site and a half page of dot points with some basic requirements. A few weeks later we received the initial concept plans and were pleasantly surprised with the outcome. In a word they nailed it! The layout worked well given the constraints of the site, the design had several interesting features and was very much to our personal tastes.  From that point forward only minimal changes were required and we were able to progress the design through the further stages of gaining Council Development Approval and preparation of certified construction drawings. Abela Design & Drafting handled all liaison with the encumbrance manager, council, structural engineers, energy rating assessors and private certifiers which was a bonus. Throughout the whole process they were very professional and pleasant to deal with and even answered some questions during the construction phase well after their engagement was over.  I would have no hesitation recommending their services to others.
